Robert Aibel, owner of the Moderne Gallery and a recognized expert on Twentieth Century furniture and decorative arts, is a Jules Bouy enthusiast. In his January 14, 2021 presentation, Aibel addresses what may be the largest privately held collection of Bouy furniture in the country, including room design elements, the one-of-a-kind Steinway grand piano, and signature furnishings.

 

Bouy was the counterweight to Edmund Gilchrist, the Club’s architect. Anecdotes about their relationship provide rich insight about the Club’s beginnings and its founding members
